Post-Meeting Essentials: Managing and Editing Your Teams Recordings

In this session, we’ll guide you through what comes next after hosting a Microsoft Teams meeting. You’ll learn how to locate your meeting recordings using the Teams app, Microsoft Outlook, and OneDrive. We’ll also explore important follow-up details like recording expiration dates, meeting recaps, attendance reports, chat history, and more.

Next, we’ll shift focus to editing your recorded meeting using Clipchamp, a Microsoft 365 video editing tool. You’ll discover how to enhance your video by adding sound, text, images, and by cutting or rearranging sections for a polished final product.

This session is for those who were unable to attend prior Tech Tuesday Teams sessions.  This course will combine the beginners’ essentials with intermediate features to help familiarize you with Teams.

If you’re brand new to Microsoft 365 this session is perfect for you. We’ll start with the basics, walk you through the login process and familiarize you with the interface. We’ll explore key features like the App Launcher, Home Button, and how to pin apps for quick access.

Next, we’ll dive into your account settings so you can personalize your experience by adjusting display preferences, setting your time zone, and managing your devices. You’ll also learn how to navigate between apps, organize and find your saved files, and understand how folders are automatically set up for app-specific content.

Finally, we’ll cover the collaboration tools that make working together easy—showing you how to share files, co-edit in real time, and use apps like Whiteboard and Visio to collaborate seamlessly.

Tech Tuesdays – OneDrive Spring 2025 – Intermediate

As a result of this session, you’ll have an opportunity to schedule a future appointment with Mrs. Hughes to have your files migrated for you using Microsoft’s migration tool. You’ll explore table layouts, date pickers, choice lists, checkboxes, radio buttons, and more! The session will take place in a classroom, please bring your own machine.

Qualtrics can offer you an easy way to build online surveys, a secure way to collect responses, and key analytical tools that are built into the system itself.  Make plans to join the April 15th Tech Tuesday to learn how Qualtrics can aide you in your research!

IS&T has recently revised and streamlined the workflow for Software and Hardware requests. Our primary goal was to enhance the review process, ensuring robust network security, safeguarding information privacy, complying with ADA standards, and meeting all relevant state and federal regulations. A major outcome of these updates is a simplified request process that delivers timely and accurate results. In this session, we will guide you through the updated Software and Hardware request processes, explaining the steps involved and the rationale behind each one.  This includes the preferred purchasing and procurements of software and hardware. This session will be a discussion rather than a hands-on workshop. You are welcome to bring your laptop if you wish to visit the IS&T website for links.

Our upcoming training session combines comprehensive phishing awareness education with practical guidance on identifying and reporting suspicious emails. Participants will learn how to utilize the new ‘Barracuda Email Protection add-in’ via Microsoft Outlook to effectively report potential phishing threats.

Are you responsible for managing and tracking a departmental budget? Would you like to improve how you manage your personal finances? Join us for a session where we’ll guide you through creating an Excel workbook budget tracking tool. This tool will automatically summarize expenditures, anticipated expenses, and remaining balances. Basic knowledge of Excel functionality will enhance your experience in this session. We’ll also review current UM accounting, purchasing and travel procedures as outlined by the respective departments. This is a hands-on session; you are welcome to bring your laptop.

Storing documents and files can be cumbersome. Join this Tech Tuesday session to understand how Box and One Drive work, learn what information can be stored using Box and One Drive and how to access your files throughout MS 365.

Are you new Teams Meetings? This is the session is for you! This is your chance to join a Teams meeting and try all the cool tools and chat features.  We will cover breakout rooms, screen sharing, participants, The toolbar and more.  You’ll have opportunities to play with features like sharing emoji reactions, raising your hand, clapping, waving, asking questions, and responding to questions.  Other topics will include captioning, recording and tools available for the presenter.  You are encouraged to join the conversation and have a good time.  A link to this virtual meeting will be shared with all the registrants the day before the meeting.

This session will introduce you to Canva, an online graphic design tool, and the features and functionality it offers. Q&A is encouraged. This will be in a computer lab, but you are welcome to bring your own device.

The sessions is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In this session, we will dive into tables, charts, and pivot tables along with other tips/tricks commonly used in Excel. A basic understanding of Excel is necessary to fully enjoy this session. This session will be held in a computer lab, you are welcome to bring your own laptop. You may join the 1pm – 2pm or the 4pm – 5pm session.

In this beginner session, you will learn how to work with worksheets, cells, columns, and rows. You will be introduced to conditional formatting, charts, and pivot tables along with other tips/tricks commonly used in Excel.

In this session, you will explore the Apps within Microsoft 356 and how they can enhance and ease your productivity. In addition to basic knowledge of MS Office, you may discover tools that will help you manage your calendar (Calendar), your task list (To Do & Lists), file sharing (SharePoint), scheduling (Bookings), and powerful creative tools idea sharing and collaboration (Whiteboard & Loop).
