Advising Information for Art Majors

Each student is assigned an academic advisor who can help make decisions about which classes to take each semester, discuss career plans, and find campus resources. You will need to meet with your advisor prior to registration for course advice and clearance to register. Check with your advisor to see how to get signed up for a meeting time, as everyone has their own system. This page contains all the information you need to find your advisor, know when to register, and view the suggested course of study for your program.

Advising Calendar

You can talk to your advisor anytime during the year. To register for classes you must meet with your advisor before registration begins to be cleared to register for courses for the next semester.

The Fall schedule goes live usually in March
The Spring and Summer schedule gose live usully in October

Registration

Registration starts at 7 am (all currently enrolled students).

      • Graduate-April 6
      • Seniors-April 8
      • Juniors-April 10
      • Sophomores-April 14
      • Freshman-April 16

 

 

  1. Access Banner Self-Service. For assistance logging in to Banner Self-Service, contact the Solution Center.
  2. Click on Student Tab or Link and then on Registration.
  3. You have several options (icons) that are used for different applications.
  4. Click on Register for Classes
  5. Click on the drop-down arrow to Select a Term click on Continue
  6. Search the classes – by subject or subject and course number – you can click on advanced search if you want to search by day, time, or instructor.  In the status column, you can view the seats and if the class is still open.  When you hover over the column of the course, a box will appear.  It will give more information for that column.
  7. Once you have located the class you want to register for, click on Add.  This will add your classes to a summary/worksheet before you complete the registration.  To locate another class, click on Search Again for the search criteria to search for another class.
  8. Once you have your classes selected, click on submit.  Under the status column you should see Registered or an error message if there are any issues.
  9. The panel on the left will show your schedule of classes (week at a glance) or click on the second tab and you can see a full detail of the classes.  You can also click on the Schedule and Options tab to see your schedule, and the option to print your schedule.
  1. Log into Banner Self Services
  2. Select Term (your registering for)  (Be sure it is set to this term)
  3. Click on the Student tab at the top of the page
  4. Then Student Profile link
  5. The Advisor is then listed and click on the advisor’s name for contact information
  6. On this screen, there is a lot of information about you
  7. Also in the top right-hand corner, you can see if you have HOLDS. Be sure to clear any holds that prevent registration before your day to register
