Holsombeck Harvest Hangout

Jump to:

Event Overview

University of Montevallo students from DeAnna Smith’s Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability class are applying their academic knowledge to benefit the local Boys and Girls Club. Presented with the task of increasing awareness and funds for the organization, students have worked to create a unique event to support the youth and honor Montevallo’s late Johnny Holsombeck.

Join us on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the McChesney Activity Center for a day of fun! Throughout the Hangout, there will be plenty of fun, family-friendly activities available, including music, a cornhole tournament, a cook off, a silent auction, and Pie-A-Professor!

To guarantee the success of this event, the students are asking for families and local businesses to become sponsors! If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please reach out to Anna Kate Deerman at (205)605-4411 or email adeerma1@forum.montevallo.edu. Deadlines for this event are as follows: Cook Off and Volunteers are due November 5th. Sponsorships, for names to be printed on the banner, are due October 31st
