Work Request Submittal

Work Order Center Overview

The Work Order Center is responsible for distributing all work requests to the appropriate Physical Plant Supervisor during normal business hours. All requests are documented from start to completion in our online work order management system, FlowPath.

Students, faculty, and staff may submit work requests by emailing umwoc@montevallo.edu. Work Order Center staff monitor this inbox and will enter each request into FlowPath.

Maintenance shops close at 3:30 p.m. Any non‑emergency request submitted after this time will be processed the following business day.

*If you need to cancel or update a request, please call or email.

Emergency Work Requests

An emergency is any situation in which people, equipment, or facilities are at risk of damage. Requests classified as emergencies should always be called in, not emailed. Examples include flooding, no hot water throughout a building, total power outage, AC not working, broken windows, and similar urgent issues.

UM responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, with after‑hours support coordinated through UMPD.

Weekdays, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Call the Work Order Center at (205) 665‑6130

After Hours, Weekends, and Holidays Call UM Police at (205) 665‑6155
