As the only  Kodály Certification program in Alabama, the University of Montevallo Kodály Institute (UMKI) provides an exceptional professional development opportunity that will equip music educators with tools and resources to enrich the curriculum, strengthen learning outcomes, and foster best teaching practices.  UMKI is endorsed by the Organization of American Kodály Educators.

The deposit is due upon registration and will be applied to the program fee. Class materials are not included. In the case of course cancellation due to insufficient registration, all fees will be refunded in full. Payment options include check, Visa/MasterCard, money order, or purchase order.

All-Steinway School

In fall 2007, UM’s piano program in the Department of Music received an “All-Steinway” designation. Through a very generous donation from a local business, UM music students have the very finest of pianos upon which to practice and perform.
