Marble Carving Workshop & Residency 
Pietrasanta, Italy at Fondazione Centro Arti visivi (CAV)

• Approximately three weeks total
• Two weeks for marble carving (10 workshop days + 2 days of free work)
• One week for travel, including day trips to museums and travel to and from US
• Partial funding available, students should be prepared to pay for meals.

Art Major or Art minor

APPLICATION

1. Statement of Purpose

Why you want to participate in the Marble Carving Residency (Fondazione Centro Arti Visivi (CAV) in Pietrasanta, Italy? Please speak to how this experience would be transformative to your art practice and your studies at the University of Montevallo. (minimum 2 paragraphs)

2. 10 images of work (in one presentation). The file needs to be under 25MB.

• Note: It is important that your work demonstrates an applicable skill set, as this will be an extensive two week marble carving workshop. The Portfolio should demonstrate a basic understanding of tools, materials, and processes used in the creation of Sculpture and Functional Work (ex. working with wood, plaster, steel, ceramics, etc.).
