Student Organizations

Stephens Leadership Ambassadors

Selected by their peers, the Stephens Leadership Ambassadors exemplify strong leadership and a deep commitment to the College. Through service, mentorship, and engagement, these student leaders promote professionalism and school pride while empowering their fellow students to lead with integrity, collaborate with purpose, and represent the Stephens College of Business with distinction on campus and beyond. Ms. Staci Kolb and Dr. Gary Johnson serve as advisors for this group.

Stephens College Sales Team

The Stephens College Sales Team is comprised of students across all business disciplines that provides training and experiential learning opportunities in sales education. Students develop important sales skills, network with alumni and sales industry professionals, participate in internal sales events, and represent the University of Montevallo at national intercollegiate sales competitions. The Stephens College Professional Sales Program supports the Sales Team as they compete at national, intercollegiate sales competitions, as well as hosts their own internal sales competition, Falcon Sales Showcase, in the spring semester.

Research Fellows

University of Montevallo Research Fellows are students who work closely with a faculty mentor to conduct scholarly research or creative projects, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to academic knowledge and presenting their work to the broader community. Research Fellows present their work at an annual University-wide Undergraduate Research Day.

VITA

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS and community-sponsored program designed to assist low to moderate income taxpayers with the preparation of their annual tax returns at no cost. Low-income taxpayers can receive tax assistance from IRS-trained Stephens College of Business students at the University of Montevallo.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

The purpose of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and reward scholarship and accomplishment among students of business and administration, to promote the advancement of education in the art and science of business, and to foster integrity in the conduct of business operations.
