July 24, 2026

Season tickets are now available for an incredible lineup of shows in the upcoming 2026-2027 theatre season at the University of Montevallo.

The schedule for the upcoming season highlights the broad array of talent in the Theatre Program on display at the Alan and Lindsey Song Center for the Arts.

The season opens with “Boy Gets Girl,” a play written by Alabama-native Rebecca Gilman, which will run Oct. 1-4, 2026.

UM Theatre will present “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” the massive musical theatre hit by Sondheim, from Nov. 19-23, 2026. UM Theatre will begin the spring season on Jan. 23, 2027, with the first ever Montevallo Alumni Cabaret, a one-night-only event showcasing the incredible talents and careers of our former students.

Finally, the Theatre Program will present the National Theatre version of “The Bacchae,” a new adaptation of the Greek tragedy, from April 15-18, 2027.

Purchasing season tickets features several benefits, including:

  • First pick of seating in the Discover Shelby Theatre
  • Access for productions in the Michael and Sue Meadows Black Box, an intimate space that routinely sells out
  • A 10% discount compared to buying tickets for each show individually
  • Free tickets for the first-ever Montevallo Alumni Cabaret

Season tickets, as well as tickets for individual shows, are available for purchase here.
