University of Montevallo Claims Sixth Consecutive Bass Pro Shops School of the Year Title

The University of Montevallo extended its historic run in collegiate fishing after winning a sixth consecutive Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia title following the 2026 Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship event May 21-22 at Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama.

The Falcons closed out another year of domination in the Association of Collegiate Anglers, with the team ending its season under the leadership of new coach Clent Davis.

Senior Peyton Sorrow of Abbeville, South Carolina and freshman Brady McCormick of Westover led Montevallo in the championship event this week with a third-place finish in individual standings after collecting a bag of bass weighing in at 44.26 pounds in the two-day event.

Montevallo accumulated the most points of any team in the nation for the sixth year in a row. The Falcons edged Carson-Newman University and the University of North Alabama in the School of the Year standings.

The Falcons will compete for a seventh consecutive Bass Pro Shops School of the Year title in the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
