UM opening doors to students affected by Judson College closure

May 10, 2021

The University of Montevallo is working to help students affected by the recently announced closure of Judson College, and is offering them an opportunity to seamlessly transition to UM to complete their education. Multiple academic scholarship opportunities are available to eligible students who transfer to Montevallo.

UM admissions counselors are standing by to ensure a smooth transfer process into any of Montevallo’s top-quality and affordable academic programs.

“The University of Montevallo was a women’s college for the first 60 years of its now 125-year existence. That, along with our intimate, family setting, makes us a perfect institution for Judson students to continue their study and preparation for their life and career,” said Dr. John W. Stewart III, UM’s president. “Indeed, all our transfer students are welcomed with a seamless and enjoyable transfer experience.”

At UM, Judson students will be able to continue and complete their already successful college careers. Montevallo has been named the top public regional university in Alabama for the past 12 years, has been named a College of Distinction for the past nine years and was recently named one of the most beautiful colleges in the South by Southern Living. Montevallo has frozen its tuition every year since 2018.
