Pianos for Montevallo

Pianos for Montevallo

University of Montevallo art students are breathing new life into dated pianos in an effort to raise funds for a brand new Steinway piano for music students in the College of Fine Arts.

Three students have painted pianos that have reached the end of their useful life as an instrument in a collegiate setting, and the pianos are now on display across the Birmingham area at Trustmark Bank in Montevallo, Cahaba Brewing in Avondale and Lakeview Marina in downtown Birmingham.

The students created a proposal with a rough draft of their artwork for the pianos and were selected among a group of eight proposals submitted.

Those interested in bidding on one of the pianos will be able to scan the QR code at each location or click the link below. The funds raised will help the College of Fine Arts replace the piano in its inventory, ensuring that students for generations to come have access to the highest quality instruments for their studies. The auction begins on November 23 at midnight. Bids will be accepted through February 14, during Homecoming Weekend.

The link to bid on a piano will be posted soon!
