McNair Research Journal

The McNair Scholars Journal is the culmination of intensive research and scholarship conducted by the University of Montevallo McNair scholars and their faculty mentors through our Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program.

The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program is a national program funded through the Department of Education and is designed to prepare highly talented undergraduates from first generation, low-income backgrounds, and students who are underrepresented in doctoral programs (African-American, Hispanic, Native American, and Native Alaskan) to pursue doctoral degrees. The goal of the program is to increase the number of undergraduate students, with diverse backgrounds, to earn a PhD. and to secure teaching and research appointments at colleges and universities.
