Laura Catoe

Laura Catoe is an adjunct instructor of Communication with more than 15 years of professional experience in graphic design, photography, journalism, public relations, and marketing. Her career in communications began at The Gadsden Times, where she worked as a graphic artist before expanding her responsibilities to include news writing, photography, digital media, magazine production, and marketing communications. She also served as a website coordinator and social media manager in higher education prior to becoming an instructor.

In addition to teaching, Ms. Catoe serves as Gadsden State Community College’s ADA Coordinator, where she collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to promote accessibility and inclusive learning environments. She holds a master’s degree and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education at Auburn University at Montgomery, focusing on instructional technology, accessibility, and the design of effective online learning experiences.

Ms. Catoe enjoys helping students develop strong communication skills and connecting classroom concepts to real-world professional practice.
