Delegates of Colleges and Universities, Educational Associations, and Learned Societies.

The University of Montevallo is honored to welcome delegates representing colleges and universities, educational associations, and learned societies to the Inauguration of our 16th President, Dr. Michelle R. Johnston, held in conjunction with the University’s 130th Founders’ Day Convocation.

The participation of delegates in the academic procession reflects the enduring traditions of higher education and the shared commitment to scholarship, service, and leadership among academic institutions. We are grateful for your presence as we celebrate this historic occasion and formally inaugurate President Johnston’s leadership of the University of Montevallo.

Delegate Registration

Representatives of colleges and universities, educational associations and learned societies are invited to register to participate in the inauguration of Dr. Michelle R. Johnston as the 16th President of the University of Montevallo. Please complete the form below by September 25.

Delegate Check-In and Robing

Delegate check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the ground floor of Carmichael Library, directly behind Palmer Hall. The delegate robing area will also be located on the ground floor of the library. Light refreshments will be available throughout the morning.

Delegates participating in the academic procession are encouraged to wear the academic regalia of their respective institutions and should allow ample time for check-in, robing and processional assembly.

Parking

Reserved parking for delegates will be available in the Palmer Hall parking lot. Event volunteers will be available to assist with directions and campus wayfinding upon arrival.

Lunch

Following Convocation, delegates are warmly invited to join members of the University community for lunch in Anna Irvin Dining Hall.
