French

Minor

Overview

Our department offers a minor in French by engaging with the language through the works of great French writers like Voltaire, Proust, and Camus. The French minor will help you develop a greater critical thinking and problem-solving. Also, gain perspective through diverse French-speaking communities from Quebec to Senegal, developing empathy and understanding across cultural boundaries.

Core Concepts

  • The minor in French expands students’ knowledge of the French and the Francophone cultures and develops their basic French language skills to communicate more effectively with a wider array of individuals.
  • Mastering grammar, phonetics, and conversation, as well as deepening an understanding of French and Francophone literature, and cultures.
