Biology

Major - Minor

The Biology program features a diverse curriculum in Biology and provides pre-professional programs for students pursuing admission into medical, dental, veterinarian, pharmacy and optometry schools. Active faculty research programs provide research opportunities to students who are interested in graduate school or careers in biology-based laboratories or fieldwork. UM is a member of the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium, dedicated to providing marine science education to UM students through Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Two minors in Biology are also offered. Our goal is to educate our students in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
