Nutrition, M.S. Coordinated Program in Dietetics

The Master of Science in Nutrition/Coordinated Program in Dietetics is designed for students pursuing a career as a food and nutrition expert to include nutrition and dietetics healthcare professionals.

The program is primarily delivered on-campus in Montevallo with some hybrid and online courses.

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics and Master of Science in Nutrition is designed for students pursuing a career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to enjoy a rewarding profession as a food and nutrition expert. This program combines graduate studies (MEd) with supervised practice hours that are required to become an RDN.

Our faculty create an engaging learning environment with small class sizes and a passion for teaching nutrition and dietetics. Graduates maintain a high pass rate on the RDN exam and easily find employment upon graduation.

Requirements Prior to the First Day of Class

  • Immunization card
  • Drug screening
  • Proof of health and automobile insurance
  • ServSafe certification

Coursework overview

All coursework must be completed with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Some prerequisites may be required.

  • Bachelor’s degree (recommended minimum 3.0 GPA from a regionally accredited college/university)

  • Two letters of recommendation

what can I do with this degree?

Students engage in a meaningful opportunity to attain all knowledge, skills, and competencies required by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND) for eligibility to sit for the  Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) exam  upon successful completion of the program.
