My name is Lizbeth Juarez and I am the director of comprehensive campaign and special giving.

I am from Mexico and currently reside in Hoover, Alabama.
If you hold any degrees, what are they in and from what schools?
A Bachelor of Business Administration with focus in management and finance and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Montevallo.
How long have you worked here?
Five years.
Did you hold any previous positions here? If so, what are they?
Staff accountant, director of annual giving and prospect research and director of advancement strategic initiatives.
What brought you to Montevallo?
The opportunity to work for my alma mater.
What’s the best thing about working for Montevallo?
Being able to make a difference in the lives of students.
Do you have any interesting stories about one of your favorite experiences here?
I manage the alumni engagement center. While it is not an easy job, my student workers are the reason I enjoy doing it. I have been very lucky to hire amazing student workers and it is rewarding to see them become young professionals, while also connecting them with our alumni.
Commencement is such a bittersweet time for me; while I am so sad to see them go, I am proud of them and excited to see them achieve their goals.
What’s your proudest accomplishment since being at UM?
As a student, becoming Student Government Association president and working closely with the school administration.
As a staff member, becoming a fundraiser is one of my greatest accomplishments at UM. I get to advocate for the students and see the fruits of my labor pay off by raising funds, which make a meaningful impact on our students.
Why do you belong at Montevallo?
Because UM is my family. Montevallo has been there for me since I was a prospective student. Montevallo has seen me grow up and become who I am today. I will always call Montevallo my home.
