Theatre Scholarships

Department of Theatre Scholarships

The Department of Theatre awards scholarships to incoming freshmen/ transfer students and continuing theatre majors. These merit-based scholarships require an application and either a portfolio submission or an audition. Applicants must be theatre majors to be eligible. The scholarship committee is looking for work that indicates who you are as an artist and/or designer.

Who is eligible for Theatre Scholarships?

All current University of Montevallo Theatre Majors and incoming Freshman/Transfer Students that have been accepted to the University are eligible for Department of Theatre scholarships.  To receive a scholarship award, students must be enrolled full-time and on track for a degree in Theatre for the entire 2026-2027 academic year. Scholarship monies will be divided evenly between the fall and spring semesters.

Scholarship Requirements

An audition or portfolio review with an interview is required for all theatre scholarship applicants.

If you are applying for a B.F.A. degree track, you do not need to apply separately for a Department of Theatre Scholarship. You will automatically be considered based on your audition/interview for the B.F.A. degree.
