The Department of English and World Languages contributes to the University of Montevallo’s liberal arts curriculum through its programs in literature, languages, writing, philosophy and religion.
The Department’s collaborative, multi-disciplinary nature facilitates instruction that lays the foundation for lifelong learning and an ongoing appreciation for cultural diversity.
In this spirit, the Department believes that its students leave the University of Montevallo with a more nuanced, empathetic and inquiring view of the world and are thus better prepared to contribute to their communities as articulate, informed and socially conscious members of society, regardless of what career path they choose to follow.
