Undergraduate Retention Rate

The University monitors undergraduate retention in accordance with the Student Engagement and Success overarching goal of the University’s Strategic Plan 2015-2020 that includes the goal of enhancing the climate of the University to cultivate greater levels of student success as measured by retention and completion.

The current targets were set in the Undergraduate Strategic Enrollment Plan, implemented in 2017, and supersede those set in the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan. The targets were informed by trends in the data and are aspirational retention rates based on mission and capacity.

  • Goal –
    • Freshman to Sophomore 75%
    • Sophomore to Junior 65%
    • Junior to Senior 55%
  • Minimum Threshold of Acceptability – No more than a 10% drop over two years for any class rank.
