What is your name and current title with the University of Montevallo?

Audrey Crawford, executive director of Admissions.

Where are you from and what city do you currently reside in?

I’m from Greensboro, Alabama, and currently live here in Montevallo.

If you hold any degrees, what are they in and from what schools?

A Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Continuing Education in Counseling and Psychology, both from the University of West Alabama, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi (completion in July 2024).

How long have you worked here?

I’m in my twelfth year and will hit thirteen years in September.

Did you hold any previous positions here? If so, what are they?

I have held the positions of associate director of Admissions, director of recruitment, and director of Admissions during my time at UM.

What brought you to Montevallo?

I have always enjoyed working with people, so when the opportunity to work at Montevallo was presented to me, I jumped all over it. Everyone was so welcoming and accepting of our family.

What’s the best thing about working for Montevallo?

As cliché as it sounds, I love the people here at the University of Montevallo. Everyone is super welcoming and supportive.

Do you have any interesting stories about one of your favorite experiences here?

My favorite experience here is being able to witness my husband, William Crawford, lead the University of Montevallo fishing team to three Bass Pro Shops School of the Year titles. It’s been such a fun past few years watching the success of our students.

What’s your proudest accomplishment since being at UM?

My proudest accomplishment is completing the doctoral program in higher education administration at The University of Southern Mississippi while also working full time and raising our two daughters.

Why do you belong at Montevallo?

I belong at Montevallo because we are committed to creating significant opportunities for our students. Despite being a small school, Montevallo offers a path for students to pursue their passions and achieve their goals.
