Dr. Cassie Raulston is a Professor of Education and Chair of the Teaching, Leadership, and Technology Department in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Montevallo. She holds six active teaching certifications She earned her B.S. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from The University of Alabama, followed by an M.Ed. and Ed.S. in Special Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education. She also earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from The University of Alabama.

At the University of Montevallo, Dr. Raulston serves as the Program Coordinator of the Professional Educator Master’s and Secondary Education Programs. She teaches courses across the Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Instructional Technology programs. Her professional interests include instructional technology, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in education, technology integration, and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. She is particularly passionate about preparing future educators to thoughtfully and effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.

Dr. Raulston has had the privilege of collaborating with colleagues to develop and lead multiple summer Coding Camps for elementary through high school students, providing students with opportunities to explore coding, technology, and computational thinking. She has also developed and delivered professional learning opportunities and technology-focused training for educators.

Prior to joining the University of Montevallo, Dr. Raulston served as a Gifted Education Specialist and Instructional Technology Specialist, experiences that continue to inform her work with teacher candidates, practicing educators, and colleagues in higher education.
