Dr. Brendan Beal

Dr. Brendan Beal is an associate professor of Social Work in the Department of Social Work and Speech Pathology at the University of Montevallo.  He holds a B.S. in Marketing and an M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Georgia.  He joined UM in 2016.

Dr. Beal teaches Research in Social Welfare, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, and Social Work Practice with Groups.  His research interests include the use of Virtual Reality (VR) in the pedagogy of Social Work. He is also the head coach of the  Montevallo eSports Team.
