Job description

This is specialized para-professional work assisting in the operation of the Statewide Centralized Call Center managed by the AOC:

  • Employees in this class perform independent work involving assisting the public with telephone or email inquiries, maintaining records relating to such assistance, researching issues and problems that have been reported, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Work is performed under the general supervision of the unit supervisor.

May not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties which may be performed:

    • Handles basic customer inquiries and processes customer transactions.
    • Sends e-mail requests to appropriate departments to complete customer transactions.
    • Documents customer information in computer system.
    • Researches issues and problems reported by the public.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills/Keyboarding skills.
  • Exceptional quality and service focus; highly productive and performance-driven.
  • Ability to multitask (use computer while conversing, noting cases, etc.).
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrates commitment and dedication.

  • Must possess well-developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to:

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school with relevant business experience.
  • One to two years customer service experience.
  • Previous exposure to call center environment preferred.
