WELCOME

Welcome to the University of Montevallo, Department of Music. Here you will find information about one of the most highly regarded music programs in the state and region. Continuously accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1931, we have remained a competitive force in Alabama’s collegiate music education. We are proud of the success and the achievement of our students, alumni, and faculty and we invite you to browse our pages and come visit us in the classroom and/or concert hall.

On our beautiful historic campus, LeBaron Recital Hall and Palmer Auditorium are alive with music performances throughout the school year. From chamber music to large ensembles, to our state-of-the art sound booth, music technology and piano labs, to our smart classrooms, studying music at the University of Montevallo prepares students for great careers!

Come spend a day with us!

One of the best ways you can get to know a school is by visiting the campus and meeting the faculty. Call the music office at 205-665-6670, or e-mail at music@montevallo.edu, and we will arrange for you to sit in on music classes, ensemble rehearsals, and private lessons. If you would like a sample lesson with a teacher in your major area, that can be arranged as well. If you are unable to visit on a weekday, you and your family may wish to have a private tour of the building on a Saturday. Though you won't be able to sit in on classes, any questions you have about the school and various degree programs can also be answered at that time.
