Love Montevallo Day Color Run

Please join the Montevallo Junior City Council (MJCC) and the University of Montevallo for a 5k Color Fun Run.  Proceeds will benefit the Montevallo Junior City Council and the Arc of Shelby County.

The 5k color fun run will be held March 14th beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Village on Valley on Love Montevallo Day! The run is approximately 3 miles with color being thrown on runners at every mile. The color is safe for runners and will be thrown below the face.

For highest impact, wear a white t-shirt. Love Montevallo Day t-shirts will be available for sale at the event on first come, first serve basis.  Pets are welcome to join if they are on a leash.  Race timing will not be provided.

Montevallo Junior City Council

The mission of the Montevallo Junior City Council is to improve youth civic engagement and quality of life. Montevallo Junior City Council (MJCC) members consist of local middle and high school students enrolled in the local schools or living in the Montevallo area. These youth have completed numerous projects such as: establishing a local teen center, raising funds to purchase baseball helmets for youth in the community, and sponsoring holiday events for youth. Montevallo youth are encouraged to attend public meetings held by the MJCC to express their interests and ideas.  University of Montevallo students in Professor DeAnna Smith’s Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability class are serving as advisors to the MJCC in establishing their first color run, offering advice and support while volunteering alongside the MJCC at Love Montevallo Day.
