University of Montevallo student wins game design award

MONTEVALLO – Once again, a student in the Game Studies and Design program at the University of Montevallo has been recognized by GameCareerGuide for creating an innovative game in the most recent Game Design Challenge: “Space is the Place.”

Amy George, of Hoover created Atmos, a game in which the player must overcome the negative effects of a chemical mist designed to make the atmosphere on the planet Rahnak breathable. The player confronts physical obstructions as well as enemy species and must use strategy to complete the mission. Atmos was chosen a “Best Entry” in this most recent challenge. is a nationally recognized website for game design.
