UM Hosting Internationally Acclaimed Artist Monty Cole

Montevallo, AL– Internationally acclaimed clarinet and saxophone artist Monty Cole will be performing at the University of Montevallo on Wed., Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lebaron Recital Hall on the university’s campus.

Cole will be presenting “Into the Wind: Masterworks for Clarinet & Saxophone” to kick off the College of Fine Arts Marquee Events series.

Cole has toured across North America and Central America with some of the biggest names in the business such as Barry Manilow, Kristen Chinoweth and Sarah Mclachlan. While touring as a saxophonist, he has also accompanied Guy Lombardo Big Band on a tour. Cole has recently appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show alongside Josh Groban.

“We are excited about this week’s performance by Monty Cole,” said College of Fine Arts Dean Stephen Peters, Ph.D. “This year we are focused on bringing a unified season of performances, concerts, exhibitions and events. Monty Cole is sure to bring an intimate performance experience.”

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for University of Montevallo Faculty Staff and Senior Citizens and $10 for students. Tickets include a special post-show reception where guests can meet and greet the artist.
