Minor - Concentration

Music Technology Minor

The Music Technology Minor consists of offers a focus on technology, including recording and audio production. This program does not require an audition.

This program consists of 20 credit hours distributed among courses in music theory, literature, and performance (private lessons and ensemble). Students electing to take this minor must take MUS 228 as their Personal Development course in the General Education curriculum and must earn a minor GPA of 2.0 or above.

It is also strongly encouraged but not required that students take MUS 121 Music Appreciation as their General Education art appreciation course.

Music Technology Concentration

At the University of Montevallo, our Music Technology program is designed to equip students with practical skills in a wide range of areas, from MIDI, beat, and song production to audio recording, computer music, and studio operation.  This hands-on approach ensures that our graduates are well-prepared for careers in the music industry.
