Event Overview

The students of the University of Montevallo’s Spring 2025 Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability class are excited to announce the inaugural Bunny Bash and Color Dash Charitable Event! We are proud to partner with the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Montevallo to support two wonderful organizations: the Arc of Shelby County and the Montevallo Club of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for these organizations through an Easter egg hunt and a color run.

Join us on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the beautiful Orr Park for a day of fun! The free Easter egg hunt will kick off at 10:00 AM, followed by carnival games available throughout the day. The Color Run will begin at noon, with registration closing at 11:45 AM. Winners of the run, contests, and the silent auction will be announced at 12:45 PM.

Throughout the event, refreshments will be available for purchase, and family-friendly music and tailgate games will entertain spectators. We will also feature vendors from the Shelby County and Greater Birmingham communities, along with a silent auction showcasing items from across Alabama.

We can’t wait to see you on Saturday, April 12, at Orr Park in Montevallo for a day filled with fun for all ages. We kindly ask for your support to help our class reach our goal of raising $10,000 for these deserving organizations. Your contributions, no matter the size, are invaluable to us. Together, with the strength of our community, we can make a significant impact!

About the Beneficiaries

Founded in 1974 by a dedicated group of parents, the Arc of Shelby County began as an advocacy organization aimed at supporting families of children with intellectual disabilities. Over the years, it has evolved from a small support group into a vital advocacy agency, directly assisting over 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families each year. The organization has expanded its services to include an early intervention program for children with developmental delays and a supported employment program for adults with disabilities, significantly enhancing the lives of individuals and strengthening our community.

For over a century, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama have been a cornerstone of support for youth in our community. With more than 120 years of experience in youth development, their dedicated team empowers every child and teenager who joins their programs. Their mission is to affirm the worth and potential of every young person, welcoming over 750 youth aged 6 to 18 into their Clubhouses after school and serving over 1,000 youth daily during the summer. Through meaningful relationships and a commitment to providing a high-quality Club Experience, they create safe spaces for kids to learn, grow, and thrive. The Boys and Girls Club guides all members toward high school graduation and equips them with the skills and plans for a successful future, instilling values of good character and citizenship along the way.
