POETRY@UM: Alabama Poet Laureate Reading at UM

Poetry@UM and the Dept. of English & Foreign Languages present Alabama’s State Poet Laureate Jennifer Horne on Monday March 18th at 3:30 p.m. in the J.A. Brown Room, Carmichael Library.  Horne will read from her newly published book, BORROWED LIGHT, which will be available for sale and signing at the reading.  A multi-talented writer and arts advocate, Jennifer Horne explores Southern women’s identity and experience through her poems, prose, workshops, and edited volumes.  Her poetry books include BORROWED LIGHT, LITTLE WANDERER, and BOTTLE TREE, and she’s been the editor of WORKING THE DIRT:  AN ANTHOLOGY OF SOUTHERN POETS, and ALL OUT OF FAITH and CIRCLING FAITH, two anthologies of Southern women’s writing on spirituality.  Visit her blog “A Map of the World” at http://jennifer-horne.blogspot.com/
