2019 GEAR UP Jefferson County Summer Camps

Listed below are descriptions and registration links for the University of Montevallo’s Earth and Sky Camp and Leadership Camp (My Voice, My Impact, My Community). Please click on the associated link to complete registration.

Earth and Sky Camp (June 10th-14th, 2019):

  • 5-day, 4-night residential camp on the University of Montevallo campus
  • Through activities led by UM faculty and students at a variety of university sites (including the Ebenezer Swamp, the Shepherd Observatory, the university lake, and the community organic garden), campers will learn about the natural world and explore ways to sustain the environment, preserve resources, and promote a higher quality of life.

My Voice, My Impact, My Community Camp (June 24th-28th, 2019):

  • 5-day, 4-night residential camp on the University of Montevallo campus
  • My Voice, My Impact, My Community is a summer camp where middle school students learn to embrace their own identity as a unique individual. Through discussions, debates, field trips, art projects, community-wide scavenger hunts, guest speakers, and team activities, these students learn the value of their own individual talents and see the potential for the impact and contributions they can make in their own communities.
