Honors Program

Montevallo Honors Organization

The Montevallo Honors Organization is the student-led, SGA approved arm of the Honors Program and functions with the following mission:

The MHO serves to provide Honors students and any other academically-minded students with events and programs “to become acquainted in settings outside of the classroom, to work together in organizational frameworks, to spend time together informally, to explore their interests, to supplement the academic program with appropriate intellectual and aesthetic activities, to prepare for their future as leaders, and to be recognized for their special abilities and efforts.”

The MHO coordinates a number of social and service events each year at the discretion of its officers. Social events include the annual Halloween Party — Hell House, Holiday Party, and trivia competitions. Members have participated in service events including the Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome Alabama, UM Campus Clean-up, and the GRC Night for Shelby County Gifted Resource students.
