What is the application process?

  1. Students who wish to be admitted to the Honors Program must first apply for regular admission to the University of Montevallo.
  2. After applying to UM, applicants must complete a separate application for the Honors Program.

This application includes an essay, requires a résumé, and asks for a student’s GPA as well as standardized test scores.  A committee comprised of eight faculty members, representing the College of Arts and Science, the College of Business, the College of Fine Arts, and the College of Education, reviews the applicants. While there are no set requirements, the committee typically prefers a score of 27 or higher on the ACT and heavily focuses on the essay.  Additionally, the committee evaluates the student as whole, reviewing a student’s involvement in extracurricular and community activities.
