Free Musicianship Class for Children

•   The Community School of Music hosts a free-of-charge weekly music class in the Fall and Spring semesters for children in the community and surrounding areas.

•   The forty-five-minute Musicianship class is open to children ages 5 to 11 years old.

•   In this class, children work with a Community School of Music instructor and University of Montevallo Music Education Majors to discover their musical potential!

•   We will conclude each semester with a special performance during class time.  We encourage students to attend as many classes as possible so you and your student will thoroughly enjoy the performance!

•   What will students do in the Musicianship class?

1. Students will play interactive music games that help develop music reading and rhythm skills
2. Learn about famous composers
3. Listen and learn about music from around the world
4. Create their own compositions to share with family and friends

•   Classes are typically held on Monday evenings at 6:00pm in either the Band room or Choir room in the Davis Building.  Dates and times are subject to change each semester.
