Melissa A. Cheslock
Melissa A. Cheslock is the Clinic Director and clinical supervisor for the University of Montevallo’s Department of Communication Science and Disorders.
She supervises first and second year graduate students, who provide both diagnostic and intervention services for children and adults with a range of communicative needs. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She has almost 30 years of experience in both clinical and research settings.
Mrs. Cheslock’s professional interests include child language, atypical development, augmentative communication and early intervention. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications related to use of augmentative and alternative communication with young children and children with multiple disabilities. She has served on a number of committees at the local and national level with regards to early intervention and augmentative communication.
