Behavioral and Social Sciences is a multi-disciplinary department that focuses on developing essential skills for exploring the human condition and nurturing a capacity for informed citizenship. The department prides itself on the dynamic and accomplished faculty who actively engage students through a variety of pedagogical methods in the following areas:

Majors offered in the Department of Behavioral & Social Sciences

The B.A. degree requires completion of the second-year course sequence in a foreign language. The B.S. degree requires seven additional semester hours of science and mathematics.

We offer bachelor’s degrees in several disciplines: Environmental Studies, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Science, Social Work, Sociology, and Sociology with Criminology Concentration.
Minors are also available in Environmental Studies, History, Human Rights & Public Service, Human Services, Political Science, Pre-Law, Psychology, and Sociology.
Qualified students may apply for various departmental scholarships.
