The information found in this website will assist you in getting the best possible start in your new vital role at the University.
Getting Started and Required Documents
New adjunct instructors should complete all of the forms and required training on this website prior to beginning work. It is required that each adjunct instructor meet with a representative from the Office of Human Resources prior to teaching their first class. The meetings with HR may be held in a group setting or on an individual basis. Be prepared to turn in all employment forms found on this website and to present original documents to satisfy the Federal I-9 form and E-verify. All forms, including the I-9, are due no later than the employee’s first day of employment. (Identification documents must be presented within 72 hours of employment.)
Upon meeting with an HR representative, you will be provided a temporary identification card and instructions on how to obtain a permanent University ID.
Prior to the beginning of each semester, all new adjunct instructors are required to contact HR to schedule an individual appointment to turn in employment forms found on the forms tab. Employment forms must be turned in to HR prior to beginning work/teaching a class.
Items that you will need to bring with you include:
- Employment Forms
- Identification Required by Department of Homeland Security (please review acceptable documents on page 9 of the I-9 form – original documents required)
- A voided check or verification of your bank’s routing number and your bank account number.
The University of Montevallo verifies the identity and work eligibility of each new employee. Know your rights and responsibilities under E-Verify:
