Matt Arnold appointed to Board of Trustees

The Alabama Legislature recently confirmed the appointment of Matt Arnold to the University of Montevallo Board of Trustees.

 

Arnold is President/CEO at Marshall County Economic Development Council (MCEDC) in Alabama. MCEDC, the economic development agency for Marshall County, is a non-profit organization supported by local public money as well as private contributions from business and industry leaders. The mission of the MCEDC is to achieve the greatest benefit for the people and businesses of the county in the constantly changing economic environment.

 

Arnold is a 1993 graduate of the University of Montevallo where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He went on to earn an MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
He currently serves as the Alabama state director of the Southern Economic Development Council. His community involvement also includes Paul Harris Fellow and past-president of the Guntersville Rotary Club, United Way and the Boy Scouts of America. He is a 2002 graduate of the Marshall County Leadership Challenge and a member of Leadership Alabama (Class XVII). Prior to his appointment on the UM Board of Trustees, Arnold served on the University of Montevallo National Alumni Association Board of Directors.

 

Arnold resides in Guntersville with his two daughters, Madeline and Chloe and son, Miller.

 

ABOUT THE UM BOARD OF TRUSTEES: The University of Montevallo Board of Trustees is the governing body of the institution. Duties of the UM Board of Trustees include selecting a president, approving the budget, securing of adequate financial resources, establishing broad institutional policy, and supporting the administrative and educational functions of the institution and those officers and employees responsible for them. Board meetings and committee meetings are posted on the Secretary of State’s website in accordance with the Alabama Open Meetings Act.
