Teacher Education Program

Introduction

The Initial Teacher Education Program Handbook is designed to help undergraduate students, with the assistance of their advisers, to plan and monitor their academic studies in the College of Education. The Handbook is available to students who declare an education major or who intend to teach with an arts and sciences, physical education, family and consumer sciences or fine arts major.

Since students are ultimately responsible for meeting all requirements for the Teacher Education Program (TEP), Alabama teacher certification, and University of Montevallo graduation, it is suggested that the Handbook be studied closely and consulted regularly. Questions should be addressed to students' advisers and/or the staff in the Office of Teacher Education Services, Wills 207, Ext. 6352. Lynn Frazier, the Program Assistant in Teacher Education Services, is available from 8:00 until 5:00 p.m. each day to assist students. The office is closed for lunch each day from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
