Pearce Durst

Pearce Durst is an assistant professor of English at the University of Montevallo. He holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois, an M.A from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. from Washington State University.

Durst’s areas of research include rhetorical studies, multimodal composition and digital literacy. His research centers on the changing dynamics of composition, particularly how the affordances of digital technology influence the form and content of writing. His publications appear in both traditional print and online journals that allow for both creative and intellectual inquiry.

At the University of Montevallo, Dr. Durst teaches courses on contemporary rhetoric, digital literacy, technical and professional writing and composition.
