Jenifer L. Moore is an associate professor of elementary education in the areas of elementary, secondary and special education at the University of Montevallo. She holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Mississippi State University.
A former teacher of both elementary and middle school students, Moore draws upon her public school experience and current research to prepare pre-service teachers in the areas of science methods and classroom management. Moore’s research interests include the effects of choice on motivation and classroom management, the impact of personality type on professional communication and the impact of conceptual mathematics instruction on preservice teachers’ perceptions of pedagogical efficacy.
Moore has served as coordinator of the Elementary Education program since 2006 and as chair of the Institutional Review Board since 2011. She was previously employed as a faculty member and research fellow at Mississippi State University and taught graduate research at Mississippi University for Women.
