Senate Committees
Senate Committees are composed of a mixture of Senators, Executive Cabinet members, and students. If you would be interested in serving on a Senate committee, please fill out the SGA application and submit it.
Budget & Finance Committee
This committee helps the Treasurer to keep the budget balanced throughout the year as well as assist in Budget and Finance Hearings. These hearings are for student organizations to petition for money for their club or organization for the following school year.
Code of Laws Committee
This committee is extremely important in the production of legislation for the Senate. They help students draft concerns into bills and resolutions as well as assist the Administrative Vice-President with the Fledgling-- the student handbook.
Organization Evaluation Committee
This committee is responsible for helping the Office of Student Life keep the files on student organizations on campus up to date. They conduct yearly updates and publish the Student Organizations Manual.
Publicity Committee
This committee assists the Director of Publicity in publicizing events around campus and ensuring students know what activities and resources are available to them.
S.T.A.R.S. Committee
This committee works with the S.T.A.R.S. coordinator and the Higher Education Partnership to make students aware of the legislation and decisions happening in the State Legislature that could affect students, faculty, staff, and state funding (tuition).
Student Interest Committee
This committee gauges public opinion of the students by using surveys and forums to assess student interest and help the Student Government Association better serve the needs of the student body.
Cafeteria Committee
This committee addresses any concerns from students about the Cafeteria, and other food vendors on campus, and it performs regular evaluations of the cafeteria and its services.
