Why Are We Voting Online?
All SGA Elections will be conducted online using the Blackboard System. This will allow students to vote when and where it is convenient for them. It will also ensure that each student will know exactly what he or she is eligible to vote for. In addition, results can be tabulated instantly when polls close, offering much faster election results.
What if I Don't Have a Computer?
You will be able to vote from any computer that has internet access. This includes all computers in campus computer labs and personal computers on and off campus. To provide additional opportunities, we will have a computer set up in the Student Union Building (Farmer Hall) each day during elections from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
I've Never Used Blackboard. What Do I Do?
Blackboard is an easy system to use. To access the system from the University of Montevallo homepage, you'll simply login to your Forum account, and at the top right corner of the page, you will see the "Blackboard" logo. Click on it.
I Don't Know Who's Running. How Do I Know Who To Vote For?
Each candidate will provide a profile and platform that will be available online. You can simply click the link after each candidate's name to read his or her profile and platform.
What Do I Do If I Have Problems Logging In To Blackboard?
Computer Services can help with any problems you may have with Blackboard. The Help Desk is located on the first floor of Morgan Hall and is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You should try accessing Blackboard prior to voting to ensure you won't have problems.
