The University of Montevallo's mascot is "Freddie the Falcon." A falcon's offspring is called a fledgling, hence the name of this student handbook, The Fledgling.

 

The Fledgling is a student publication provided by the Student Government Association and funded primarily by student activity fees. The purpose of this book is to introduce students to the University of Montevallo.
