The University of Montevallo's mascot is "Freddie the Falcon." A falcon's offspring is called a fledgling, hence the name of this student handbook, The Fledgling.

 

The Fledgling is a student publication provided by the Student Government Association and funded primarily by student activity fees. The purpose of this book is to introduce students to the University of Montevallo.

UPDATED STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT: EFFECTIVE AUGUST 5, 2011

Please note that there have been policy updates to University Policy Numbers 01:114- Title IX Compliance and 01:115 Sexual Harassment. These changes are not in The Fledgling, but they are in effect for the 2011-2012 academic year.
