Welcome to the reaffirmation website of the University of Montevallo. These pages are designed to assist anyone seeking information regarding our application for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges (COC) of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). 

The mission of the University of Montevallo has been established by statute and can be found in Title 16 of the Code of Alabama, §16-54-3:  “The overriding mission of the University of Montevallo, unique in Alabama higher education, is to provide to students from throughout the state an affordable, geographically accessible, ‘small college’ public higher educational experience of high quality with a strong emphasis on undergraduate liberal studies and with professional programs supported by a broad base of arts and sciences, designed for their intellectual and personal growth in pursuit of meaningful employment and responsible, informed citizenship.”                      

 

The reaffirmation process provides us with an opportunity to reassess our operational performance in light of this important mission.
