RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE CLASS

 

The Rape Aggression Defense program, known as RAD, is a program of realistic self-defense techniques, designed specifically for women.  Training consists of rape awareness, prevention, risk reduction, avoidance techniques and progresses to hands-on defense training.  Free courses are offered by certified RAD Instructors and reference materials will be provided.

 

The next class will be given in November 2010. The class is six hours and it will be taught in two, three hour sessions.

Classes will be held in Bibb Graves Dance Studio. Anyone interested should email Officer Stephanie Wilson at bowmansn@montevallo.edu or come by the UM Police Department for a registration form. A registration form has to be filled out to attend the class.

Classes are open to female faculty/staff, students and citizens. To get the full experience, you will need to attend both sessions. For directions to the Dance Studio, contact UMPD at (205) 665-6155.
