Overview
Montevallo’s gates are often used as graphic representations of the University. Line drawings of the gates have been used on various publications, banners, T-shirts, mugs, etc. for the past two decades. Renderings of the gates are often used in conjunction with the official University logotype for example, on the back of some undergraduate and graduate Bulletins, the gates have been centered just above the University logotype to add graphic interest, since the logotype itself features only type and rules.
Usage
Line drawings of the gates may be used to add graphic interest to a variety of University publications.
Reproduction
The gates are generally printed in black and white, though they may be reproduced in PMS 267 (purple) occasionally. The drawings may be reversed to use against a dark background.
Special Considerations
The gates are easily scanned and photocopied. The image retains its quality when it is reduced or enlarged. EPS, PICT, GIF and TIFF-formatted images of the gates are available on disk and on printer’s slicks from the P.R. Office.
