International Week will take place Thursday, Oct. 22-Monday, Nov. 2, on the University of Montevallo campus. Complete information appears on the features page of this issue.

A study-away fair will take place Thursday, Oct. 22, from 1-5 p.m., at the International House (845 Valley Street, behind BankTrust). A variety of opportunities exist for semester exchanges and for summer 2010. Commercial representatives from Arcadia University and International Studies Abroad will be on campus. For more information, call Ext. 6006.

The 2009 Shelby County Fish Fry will take place Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m., at the Stewart Student Retreat. The cost is $20 per person for all the fish you can eat. Proceeds benefit the UM Shelby County Alumni Scholarship Fund. Come out and enjoy some good food and great company, and help support future UM students in the process! Elections for 2010 flexible benefit spending accounts are due to the Office of Human Resources by Tuesday, Oct. 27. That office must have on file either an election form (for participation) or a waiver form (for non-participation). Forms were recently send campus-wide via e-mail. For more information, contact Human Resources at Ext. 6055.

The Montevallo Branch of AAUW will hold a public forum Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m., in Hill House, on the University of Montevallo campus. The topic will be “Reshaping Public Policy on Health Care and Poverty.” AAUW State Officer and UM graduate Anna Blair of Alabama Arise will talk about these public policy issues and comment on the personal journey that led to her work with Alabama Arise.

The fall career fair will take place Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 1-4 p.m., at the Robert M. McChesney Student Activity Center. Participants should dress professionally and bring copies of their resumés. For more information, contact the Counseling and Career Center at Ext. 6262.
